Six Sided Simulations Introduces
VEX
Phoenix, Maryland - Six Sided Simulations
is pleased to introduce VEX, the first collectible card game in the world for one or more
players with a theme of flags. VEX (from the word Vexillology) is actually a set of 15
different games using the same full color flag cards as a base. Each card of VEX, and
there are now 1000 cards, contains over a dozen pieces of information about the flag of a
single political entity. Included in each box of VEX are 60 different cards, and unlike
other CCGs, there are no rare, common or uncommon cards. Each box includes rules to over
five games, with varying degrees of difficulty, each playable with a single deck. The
simplest game involves matching colors on flags like rummy and is playable by school age
children.
The games included in VEX I are basic
VEX, like Rummy; 18 Flags of Golf, an introduction to the VEX system whereby players match
attributes of the "hole" card using "stroke" cards, and taking as few
strokes as necessary; Flagship, a Battleship-like clone; 21-Flag Salute, like Blackjack;
Capture the Flag, a card version of an outdoor game by the same name; and Flagstone, where
players form sets of cards based upon criteria that are met with each flag. As in all VEX
games, no knowledge of flags is required, but players will learn about flags as they play
the games.
The games included in each deck of VEX II
or III are Checkered Flag; an auto racing game using flag cards, Rally Round the Flag; a
trick taking game that uses the continents and colors of each flag card; and Flag
Football, a team building game using the Tier 2 and Tier 3 attributes. Each deck also
includes Flag Fibonacci, a math skills game that takes advantage of the fact that almost
every flag ratio is in the form of two Fibonacci numbers (i.e.1,1,2,3,5,8 where each
number is the sum of the preceding two) and Flag Family, a game that establishes
relationships between flags.
The games included in each deck of VEX IV
or V include Flags Unfurled, a color matching game that uses the colors of each flag,
Color Guard; an exciting sequencing game that uses the points and colors of each flag
card; and Flag Date, a calendar building game using the dates on each card. VEX IV and V
also includes Color Corral, a wild trading game, Flag Tribute, a skills-knowledge game
that seeks to understand tertiary attributes of the cards, and lastly, Tournament Rules to
Golf. Both decks also include 10 suggestions on how to sort a collection of VEX cards.
